Over the course of the summer, loads of activities have been happening in thousands of churches with fun days, festivals, arts and music academies and kids clubs. Relationships have been built and contacts have been made. Now imagine for a moment that all over the country in all kinds of different settings and to all kinds of different people an invitation goes out. ' How about exploring that the Christian faith?'; 'Would you like to know more about Jesus?'

In September, there will be a national Alpha initiative advertising the Alpha course on billboards, in cinemas, in regional press and on radio, on buses and in taxis. The annual national initiative coincides with hundreds of regional and local publicity campaigns run by churches to raise the profile of Alpha as a way for people to explore the Christian faith. Many people have questions about the Christian faith and courses like Alpha give them an opportunity to hear a bit more about it and discuss their views in a relaxed and non-threatening environment.

Some ideas:

1. In universities and colleges -- Student Alpha

2. In school -- lessons, lunchtime or after-school clubs

3. Sports club/leisure centre -- football team, Rugby club or dance class?

4. Youth group -- pizza and Youth Alpha

5. Film night
