Hi we’re Jo & Sarah and we co-ordinated the "Mars Bar Mission" in our school! We bought 912 Mars Bars, stapled messages to them, bagged them up and gave them out. Years 7-10 received their Mars Bars wishing them a good Christmas before the holidays, whereas the year 11s would get theirs after the holidays with an "All the Best" message for their GCSEs. If you want to know more about what we did click here. The great response that we had from the Mars Bar project was that we had 7 new members at Rock Solid, which might sound like a small number but was really good for our small group. The greatest thing, in our opinion, that came out of the Christmas project was the response and recognition that we received. To find out more about the response and how we would improve our project click here.
The main thing we learnt was that evangelism really isn’t about numbers or statistics of new Christians, but really the level of impact you are hitting people at. If one person can meet God through your evangelising and the passion they see that you have then that is better than 100 people becoming Christians because "their mates were" or "I might as well".
