After stapling all the messages onto the Mars Bars, we split them up into Year 11s (for after holidays) and years 7-10s (for before the holidays). We then took the carrier bags with the chocolate into school and took them to the Staff Room.
Jo gave a short announcement how the chocolate bars needed to be distributed before the end of term and that there was enough for everyone in class. This was greeted by applause and a big thanks from the teachers which was great! After the holidays we actually we went round all of the Year 11 classes ourselves to hand out the chocolate.
On this journey around school we decided to visit every other tutor group and let them know why we gave them the Mars’. We basically said that we believed that Jesus could give more than just a chocolate bar to us if ever we ask and that we wanted them to see a fraction of his generosity. This was really beneficial because we managed to plug the Rock Solid lunch club in the process, attracting lots of people to come.Return to description of project |
