Soul Survivor is more than a fun time in the Summer for young people but most people think of a couple of weeks camping in Shepton Mallet in the Summer. The first annual youth conference started in 1993 with 2000 people and it’s been getting bigger ever since. Many young people from across the area have been enjoying times with friends and God at Soul Survivor during the 2007 summer holidays.

The conference runs for five days on a showground in Shepton Mallet, Somerset (or the South West of England if Somerset means nothing to you!) and this year at Stafford County Showground (which is much closer!) and people bring their own tents and camp around the site.

There are two main meetings, one in the morning and one in the evening where everyone comes together for worship, teaching and ministry. Seminars run during the day with topics as varied as preparing for leadership, sexuality, God’s heart for the poor and how to read the Bible. A number of cafes are open in the afternoon and after the main meetings in the evening to give people the space to hang out with friends, relax and listen to music.

Those feeling energetic can get involved with the sports team or visit the skate park, or for a more chilled out afternoon or evening you can watch great films or visit the resource area where you can find out more about some great Christian companies/charities/ buy a few bits.

Soul Survivor is about meeting with other Christians and encountering God in a different setting to your usual church communities.
